Project Update August 2009 The Northwestern Water and Sewer District is constructing water distribution and sanitary sewer collection infrastructure to serve the State of Ohio’s Jobs Ready Site (JRS) bordered by US 20, SR 420 and Pemberville Road. The total project cost is estimated at 7.2 million dollars, with one third of the cost being underwritten by a grant from the State of Ohio and one third being funded by the East Ohio Gas Company. The water portion of the project consists of 14,300 feet of water main, a high pressure booster pumping station and one 500,000-gallon water tower. In addition, a 1.5 million-gallon clear well will also be built. The water line will not only enhance fire protection capability in the area but will also provide public water service to those residents along the route who wish to tap. The water tower, located on SR 582, began construction in June. It is scheduled for completion in July of 2010. The water line portion of the project is scheduled for bid in mid-September with construction scheduled to begin in early November. Completion is scheduled for February of 2010. Construction of the booster pumping station and clear well is planned to begin in April of 2010. The sewer line and pumping facilities will be incorporated into the Stony Ridge and Lemoyne sanitary project tentatively scheduled for bid in late September of 2009. The JRS portion of the project consists of 5,200 linear feet of gravity sewer, 10,000 linear feet of sanitary force main, and 2 pump stations. This project will require roughly one year for construction with tentative completion in November of 2010. Sewer taps could then begin in late November of 2010. Related documents :
