PAY IT FORWARD

The District and the Salvation Army want to help our neighbors in need during financial hardship. The Pay It Forward Program is a dedicated fund to help those in our community get back on their feet following a crisis.

Pay It Forward uses generous donations from our customers to help one another with water and sewer bills during a financial emergency. Donations are forwarded to the Salvation Army to assist people in need in keeping their utilities on.

If You Can Help

Tax-deductible donations are directed to the Salvation Army and stay within The District’s service area. You can make a one-time donation or choose an amount to be paid monthly with your District bill. There is an online form or contact us at (419) 354-9090 Option 2 during regular business hours.

If You Need Help

Funds are distributed by The Salvation Army on our behalf. You must meet certain guidelines to qualify.

WATERLINE IDENTIFICATION PROJECT

This spring, The District continues a project to identify water service lines throughout our system and assisting other communities in identifying their waterlines. This $1 million waterline identification project was funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant through the Wood County Commissioners.

The Environmental Protection Agency requires all public water systems to inventory the materials of all water service lines by October of this year as part of new lead regulations developed by the EPA.

Kyle Sherman Excavating started the project in Weston and will work throughout the county through September. The project involves excavating the public and private water service near the road. This type of work does not typically require water service interruptions.

“The District completed a similar project in McComb using grant funding from the Ohio EPA,” said Tom Stalter, District Engineer. “We volunteered to administer a similar effort for other water systems with a combined countywide project to benefit these communities.” The participating public water systems include the villages of Bradner, North Baltimore, and Tontogany and the cities of Fostoria and Perrysburg.
