DON'T LET A SMALL PROJECT CAUSE A BIG PROBLEM - CALL 811 BEFORE YOU DIG!
Sunday, August 11th, is National 811 Day. This day reminds us of the Ohio Law requiring you to contact Ohio811 before you dig. Whether planting a tree or garden, installing a mailbox, fence, or deck, contacting OHIO811 before you dig protects your home and your family. Avoid potential injury and property damage, and protect your water, sewer, or other utility services by following the law and digging safely. It just takes a few minutes to call 800-362-2764, dial 8-1-1, or visit oups.org to request the location of underground utilities near your proposed digging site. This website will let you know what information you need to provide and how utilities like us respond to your request. As part of 811, The District has responded to over 4,000 utility location requests so far this year. Your role is crucial in this process. By contacting 811 48 hours before your project starts, you're helping us protect our water and sewer lines. Our team collaborates with contractors and other utilities, and we even respond to emergencies after hours to keep our communities safe. Safe digging, everyone!

BACK TO SCHOOL BASICS: DRINK MORE WATER
During the back-to-school season, it's essential to stay hydrated. Drinking water improves overall wellness and academic success. Staying hydrated can help with concentration, strengthen the immune system, boost mental clarity, and enhance physical performance. The District and local schools encourage students to use refillable water bottles at water fountains to cut down on plastic waste. Good luck with the 2024-2025 school year!
