Changes in 2026

Wood County continues to “chugg-along” with a strong local economy and low unemployment. Our diversified county-wide employers seem to stay busy but will see what the post-holiday season brings in the new year.

Continued high costs to operate, and cost of goods due to price increases, tariffs and transportation costs keep these prices increasing for small businesses, farmers, government service providers (like us!), renters, teachers, and mostly everyone which will keep things challenging.

Our challenge here at The District will be the same, i.e. keeping costs down and staying efficient in our operations!

Other changes in this new upcoming year will be the continuing transition at the District with its senior managers. This turnover will test the District to maintain and improve our levels of service to our customers. The new managers will get it done and things will go smoothly, and all for the better, of course!
