After two years of cancellations, we invite you back to The District’s biggest event, our annual Open House on Tuesday, August 16 from 3 to 7 pm. While the date and time are different, the tour, kids’ activities, and special program return with the same level of fun. As President of The District, I am looking forward to welcoming you back.
The Open House is an opportunity for you to meet our team of water professionals and board members in a less-formal manner. You can also check out our facilities and see the equipment we use each day. We hope our customers can attend especially since we are self-supported through rate revenues. Our tour helps to show how these dollars go back into the communities we serve and the environment we protect. It also features our hardworking team, who are the best!
Our activities are always a hit, especially the bounce houses, fishing derby, and caricature artists, who will draw your family members for free. Of course, the food is fantastic. We hope to have a great turnout on a Tuesday afternoon when more of our team can attend.
This year’s program looks at economic development efforts in the area. The District also will celebrate the retirement of John Cheney, who served on our board for almost 30 years. John has been a valuable board member from the start. He brought with him a broad understanding of the southern end of our service area and his experience in utilities has helped our agency tremendously.
