Dunbridge Celebrates Clean Water Milestone
The District celebrated completion of the $13.1 million Dunbridge Water and Sewer Project—the largest infrastructure initiative in The District’s more than 30-year history. The project added 2.3 miles of waterline and nearly 5.8 miles of sanitary sewer, providing new water connections to more than 40 homes and businesses and connecting 102 properties to sanitary sewer service. Funded in part by $8.7 million in Wood County American Rescue Plan Act funds, the project replaces failing septic systems and delivers reliable water and sewer infrastructure that will support a healthier Dunbridge community for years to come.
Fall Water Awareness
Prepare your home and property for colder weather with these fall water-saving tips:
- Winterize sprinkler systems before freezing temperatures arrive to help prevent broken pipes, leaks, and costly repairs.
- Clear leaves and debris from nearby storm drains to keep rainwater flowing freely and help reduce neighborhood flooding.
- Seasonal residents: If you will be away for the winter, you may shut off your water service to avoid monthly minimum charges. Be sure to winterize all indoor plumbing first to prevent frozen pipes.

“Dirty Deeds” Advances to National Operations Challenge
Our Operations Challenge team, Dirty Deeds, will represent The District and Ohio at the national WEFTEC Operations Challenge competition—often called the “Sewer Olympics”—in New Orleans in early October.
Tom, Zach, Jarred, Clay, and Bryan earned multiple podium finishes at the One Water Ohio statewide competition, demonstrating their skills in safety, maintenance, and collections work. These events highlight the teamwork, technical knowledge, and safety practices our employees use every day to protect public health and the environment.
Thank you to the Ohio Water Environment Association for covering the team’s travel expenses. Follow along on social media as Dirty Deeds competes on the national stage.
Supporting Junior Fair Youth
The District continues to proudly sponsor junior fair participants. This year, that sponsorship totaled $3,625 for the Wood and Henry County Junior Fair Youth Livestock Sales. Congratulations to all of the fair participants on another successful year.
