Studies have shown that pharmaceuticals are present in our nation’s waterbodies. Further research suggests that certain drugs may cause ecological harm. More information regarding PPCPs can be found on on the EPA’s website.
Drug Take-Back Initiative
The Wood County Hospital, The Wood County Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services Board, The Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the Bowling Green Policie Division have partnered to collect expired, unused, and unwanted pharmaceutical drugs. The service is free and anonymous. Public drop boxes are located in the lobby of the BG Police Division at 175 W. Wooster St. and at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office at 1960 E. Gypsy Lane Rd.
