Northwestern Water and Sewer District Awards the
McComb Wastewater Treatment Plant Project

Bowling Green, Ohio

The Northwestern Water and Sewer District (The District) is one step closer to building a new wastewater treatment plant in the Village of McComb.

On August 24, The District approved the award of the $6.597 million project contract to Danis Construction of Miamisburg, Ohio.

Construction is expected to begin late this fall and be complete by the summer of 2020. The project will replace the current wastewater treatment plant, which was built in 1936.

According to District Engineer Tom Stalter, “This project will significantly improve the sewer infrastructure of McComb and more importantly, reach the compliance standards mandated by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.”

Funding for a portion of construction for the project will be sourced from a United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA-RD) grant of $2.8 Million. The additional cost of construction would be repaid in the form of a low-interest loan over 40 years.
