Water Quality Testing
To ensure that our water meets or surpasses federal and state drinking water standards, the District collects and performs water quality testing more frequently than federal regulations require.
Our water quality staff:
- Monitor the drinking water systems in “real time” – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – through SCADA monitoring.
- Conduct quality control sampling of our distribution system and take samples daily in each of our 9 systems to test chlorine levels.
- Routinely collect samples in each system to test for the presence of bacteria. New pipelines are also tested for bacteriological quality before they are accepted as part of the distribution system.
The District produces an annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). The CCR includes information on your source water and the levels of any detected contaminants in an effort to help customers make informed choices about the water you drink. We encourage customer participation in our decisions affecting drinking water. The Board of Trustees’ meetings are held regularly at 7:30 am every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, at the District’s Operations Facility located at 12560 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green, OH 43402.
