Regional Water

Work on forming The Toledo Regional Water Authority (TAWA) has slowed now that the City of Toledo has decided to wait until November to leave the decision on regional water up to their voters. The plan outlined in the original TAWA agreement would have had the regional water agreement moving forward to the courts for planning and review.

The District is a regional water and sewer provider and we know firsthand that the process of becoming such an entity is time-consuming and complex. However, we hope our customers understand that if TAWA is voted down, we do have other options.

Customer Care

Winter Averaging
Concerned about paying more for sewer if you use a lot of water in the spring and summer? The District has a program for eligible customers that uses the water consumption in the winter quarter as the basis for billing sewer charges throughout the year. It's called winter averaging.

Those on the program will not be paying additional sewer charges for warm weather purposes such as watering lawns, washing cars, landscaping, gardening, or filling pools. The great news is that all customers who are eligible are automatically enrolled!
