To ensure that our water quality meets or surpasses federal and state drinking water standards, the District collects and performs water quality testing more frequently than federal regulations require.
Our water quality testing staff:
- Monitors the drinking water systems in “real-time” – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – through SCADA monitoring.
- Conducts quality control sampling of our distribution system and takes samples daily in each of our 9 systems to test chlorine levels.
- Routinely collects samples in each system to test for the presence of bacteria. New pipelines are also tested for bacteriological quality before they are accepted as part of the distribution system.
Water Quality Testing Consumer Confidence Report
The District produces an annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). The CCR includes information on your source water and the levels of any detected contaminants in an effort to help customers make informed choices about the water you drink. We encourage customer participation in our decisions affecting drinking water. The Board of Trustees’ meetings are held regularly at 7:30 am every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, at the District’s Operations Facility located at 12560 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green, OH 43402.
