A Note Regarding DOXO

The following information comes from our payment system administrator Transaction Warehouse:

We have been made aware of an email campaign from DOXO, titled "doxoDIRECT Agreement and Enrollment form". They are aggressively asking for you to complete a pre-filled form with your utility information and requesting banking information so that they can deposit payments into your account rather than send a check.

We recommend that you DO NOT give them this information. By doing so, you are agreeing to sign a contract with them for their merchant services.

In the past, we have received many inquiries regarding payments that customers said they made, but not through The District's payment system. After a good amount of research, we found that DOXO stood up a payment page for The District without our knowledge and a check would eventually arrive for that customer's payment. In the meantime, the customer's account went past due or the meter even locked while the Utility waited for the payment.

We recommend that you DO NOT give them this information. By doing so, you are agreeing to sign a contract with them for their merchant services.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USE THIS LINK TO THE DISTRICTS PAYMENT SYSTEM.

While DOXO is a legitimate company, they are not affiliated with The District, our billing system, our current credit card processor, or our current integrated payment system, customers are likely subjected to higher fees. We want to look out for your well-being, so if you have any questions, please contact us.
